The Blogs Blog

Ida Morris, Marketing Communications Specialist

TOPIC:   ADVERTISING/MARKETING

Years ago, when a friend was working on his master’s degree,
he said that virtually any minute of the day there was something he should be reading for school. I feel the same way about marketing and media blogs: there is just not enough time in the day to read everything I want to read! Every day, my inbox is filled with emails beckoning me to the latest words of wisdom from some of the most talented marketers out there. And I can’t help feeling that there are dozens more that I’m missing; golden nuggets of knowledge that I just don’t have time to mine.

So, to help you weed through the multitude of marketing and media blogs out there, I present my own personal favorites, in alpha order:

Seth Godin | Seth Godin’s Blog

What he says: “Go make something happen.”

What I say: Godin is a pioneering marketing expert, who introduced the concept of permission marketing and has authored 18 books. Social Media Examiner | SocialMediaExaminer.com

What they say: “Your guide to the social media jungle.”

Of course, the more blogs you read, the more you’ll be able to home in on the ones that are most relevant and interesting to you and your business. There are blogs that focus on marketing and media in general, as well as blogs that showcase very specific niche marketing topics; there is truly something for everyone.
